Eugenie Clark was a very accomplished female marine biologist who made various accomplishments. During the 1970s, 80s, and 90s she made many accomplishments including proving to the public that sharks are misunderstood animals-not as threatening and dangerous as they seem. This resulted in sharks getting a better reputation even though Jaws had only just been released. She also created the world renowned Mote Laboratory- an independent, not-for-profit marine research organization based in Sarasota, Florida-Founded in the year of 1955. Making thousands of discoveries able to be documented and shared with the public. Finally, she was one of the first female marine biologists. Eugenie Clark was one of the many women to contribute to he Women's Rights Movement in the 1970s, when she enter the marine biology field, usually composed of men. All of her contributions shaped the world. Eugenie took a stand against many things, shark preservation, the knowledge and capabilities of sharks, and the capabilities of women in a men's field.
